Ok so I just got my first GN. Got it for free as a matter of fact. Needs a few things but is in overall great shape. I'm shooting for mid 10s on pump gas. I'll be doing a rebuild of the engine and putting ported heads, intake mani, 90mm tb, bigger cam, fmic, and some other things. I was figuring right around 750rwhp would be good for mid 10s. I'll run race gas at the track along with slicks. On the street would be premium with et streets.

I'm just wanting the best combo that is also reliable. I don't mind spending the money as long as it gets me what I want.

Thanks for any help

Indy GN,
Welcome to the board. I suggest you do some major searching. Your goals are attainable but it going to take some cash and hard work. Also look in the TSM section of the board. Lots of good info there.

Good Luck

Well it doesn't have to be 750rwhp on the street. I can tune it mild on the street. I just want when I go to the track to be able to put a race tune in, some race gas, and hit mid 10s.

wont 750 rwhp be more like mid/high 9s??? i think 550 rwhp is a more likey goal for a street driven 109 block.

550hp will get you there. Mine made that much on the dyno and went mid 10's at 3650#. But that's on race gas.

o well that makes it much easier and street friendly then. Should be pretty easy. Thanks guys.

http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/recipes/joerecipe.html That build looks like what I'm going to follow with a few details changed here and there.

Would that be a good build sheet to follow? I'm wanting to be able to drive to the track, bolt on slicks, run my mid 10s, bolt on street tires and go home. Also, would I be able to do a competitive highway run from say 50-120? I know alot of the high HP guys around here do highway runs when the track isn't open and would love to be able to compete.

Yes, with race gas

It can be done with a stock crank and rods but the new K1 rods from DLS would be a good choice to go on the stock crank as long as the stock crank is in good shape. If not DLS also has good cranks. Mike Licht at Full throttle is also a dealer for these parts.

PT-70 is plenty of turbo
