Someone once told me about an easy (guess this depends on your definition of easy) way to get more clearance for larger rear wheel and tire combos...Anyone have any info on this...I'm assuming you have to notch the frame.

Yes Its alot easier than tubbing it fully. but the frame does have to be notched a little bit concidering on what size rim you need and tire tire size you want.Oh and you might want to cut the rear housing about a 1/2" on each side.. I notched my first TR and it looked great. 11 1/2" rim looks sweet.. I hope that helped you a little...:D

But how is it done?? Can I do it myself or is something I should have a shop do?? And is their a downside I should know about??

Whenever cutting the frame it's important that temporary braces be welded in so the frame doesn't move when a part of it is removed for a small amount of time. I was going to notch my car, but it's 100% rust free and just couldn't do it!
