Duuuuuuude I knew he wasn't talking about the bell housing bolts because Derrek has referred to my throttle body as a bell housing multiple times before...
Anyways I could care less if I don't have knowledge of cars..how else are ya gonna learn. I have no fear it fuckin things up on this car anymore., I'm passed that phase. Lemme ask you something. How did you learn to work on your turbo v6? Did you take some classes at the university or did you pick up a damn wrench and screw some shit up.? Because I highly doubt most of you guys actually sat down and learned how to work on these things without trial and error or teaching yourself(don't get me wrong there's guys out there that have done just that)

Listen I'm 18 and I'm aware that I hardly have a clue of what I'm doing(compared to you guys) but honestly I don't really know of anyone my age that has the balls to tweak with a car the way I do.
In all honestly I love doing this crap, it's fun, entertaining, I pick up in new things fast, and it sure as hell beats sitting in a class room I can tell ya that.

Danny,Just keep doing what you are doing and keep learning. You made great points in the statement above.Someone thats going to dog you out over the name of a part probably don't know shit themselves.Keep doing what you are doing and asking questions, thats the only way to learn about these cars. One other thing, promise everyone on here there will be no more doughnuts with BIG girls in the car.:D

I know more than you think TLIMITED, and I admit that even after 30 years of fixing, restoring and diagnosing cars I'm still learning.:p

You and Danny are just starting out on your journey of cars with their pain and pleasures, all I can say is enjoy the ride.;)

Hi Danny, everyone has opinions, and comments and for the most part, all are willingly to give their experience on our TR.
I started to learn at the age of 16 with my father on my 1964 Chevy Impala SS convertible, and I was replacing a wiped lobe cam on a 283 engine. I too learned from asking questions and still do a lot of reading on this forums, and many others.

Always remember this, "A Dump Question is One Not Being Ask"

Happy Holiday's to you and your family

I can't tell you how many times I hav messed my car up and learned through trial and error....I started wrenching on mine when I was 14 and am now 21. Still don't know much but much more then i did that is a fact! Dannyjov you and I are very much alike lol

Good luck today working on the car. I just read the entire thread and you have a lot better attitude than I would of had at 18. There is a lot of good advice in this thread just follow it and you will have your answer today. Cutting the oil filter open is where I would start. If it's full of debris then game over. Pulling the convertor back is also an easy quick way to find the problem or at least know where it isn't.

I've been around cars my whole life and have built some pretty fast cars in the past. This is my first GN and I am learning the forced induction do's and don't so I ask a lot of dumb questions too. I'm going to ask more dumb questions as I go. Now you have to ask yourself if the question is really a dumb question? My dumb questions will be good questions when you read them because like me you don't know the answer either.

The guy's that have been around a long time may not be as interested in my question as you because the know the answer, hence depending on their attitude may deem it a dumb question. Don't pay attention to those people. They haven't learned that everyone they know, knows something they don't.

Good luck kid!

This thread has put a smile on my face, keep it up Danny who knows someday you might be answering somebody's dumb questions.
The torch needs to be passed at some point and the fundamentals learned here are applicable to most modern cars.

If you know as much as you say you do HELP the guy out!!!!

If you know as much as you say you do HELP the guy out!!!!

I can't help the helpless, but there is hope for the clueless.

He needs to follow the advice already given first, mainly check oil filter for that wonderful shiny sparkly stuff. I think he hurt the motor, just an educated guess from my past experiences.

If he could diagnose where the noise was coming from people would be able to give more accurate advice.

I'm hoping it's a bent push rod or something cheap to fix, but like I said past experience combined with the shitty oiling system on these motors god and DANNYBOY only knows how long he was over revving the chit out of it, but my bet is he will be pulling the motor out. You did run it without oil pressure at least once from what I read in past posts, right??

He can let us know when the problem is figured out for sure and I promise not to say I told you so.

Have fun saving money for a take out or fresh rebuild is all the advice I can offer at this time.

P.S. get over it kids, I'm not hating on you, I'm just enjoying this thread as I was just like you guys at your age also.

As for my sense of humor if you don't get it, you just plain don't get it. :p Later, enjoy your holiday and best of luck to you DANNYBOY.
