Kevins clean out your PM box!!!!!

i also posted this on hardcore50.com as well

Anyway to my question:

I have a friend with an 89lx with a 5-lug set up with Lincoln discs and calipers.
He bought some 2002 bullit take offs, and they don’t fit on the front. The BS is wrong and the calipers rub. He was told he needs to either use 94/95 parts or 99 and up parts.

This leads me to this question. are the 94/95 v6 stangs the same as the GTs when it comes to this set up?

thanks
Dathan

Don't know if this is much help, but... '87-93 was 4 bolt on 4 1/4 bolt pattern and ALL '94 up are 5 bolt on 4 1/2 bolt pattern. Depending on the make/model Lincoln they went either 5 on 4 1/4 or 5 on 4 1/2. V-6, Cobra, GT etc '97 up are the same bolt pattern. HTH

yes that is the given, but thanks.

its more of an issue with the calipers and the spindles.

thanks

Dathan

the lincoln 5 lug front rotors have a bigger hub
94 and up stangs are the way to go
go to the junkyard and get from the spindles out
and go with a v8 car the brake are bigger
you will need a new brake line but I forgot from what car
the rear should bolt up fine

My PM box is empty.. I don't know why it said it was full:confused:

I don't know for sure but I do remember that the 94/95 were different for some reasons like struts and spindles or ??

Sorry I can't help:(

Actually the spindles you want are 94-95 only.
The 96-up spindles are definitely different.Using 96-up spindles will make the track width wider and put the wheels/tires out of the wheel wells.
On all of the 94-up Stangs, the spindles on a given year are shared between the V6,GT and Cobras.
What changes is the caliper brackets, rotors and calipers.
The main problem with using the 5 lug Lincoln rotors on the stock 87-93 5.0 spindle is that the dust cap for the wheel bearing sticks out too far AND in some cases the bore on a lot of the 97-up rims is too small to fit over the center hub on the earlier Lincoln rotors. If you do install 94-95 spindles, make sure that you use your stock 87-93 lower control arms and ball joints. You will need to put a thick washer between the ball joint nut and the spindle since the 94-95 spindles are thinner in the area where they mount to the ball joint.
Other than that, they are a bolt on swap.

lee that is what i wanted! now if i can get Part number to show him we can do it...

we can get the v6 parts cheap FREE!

Just make sure they are for a 94-95. The V6 front brakes are the same as the 94-98 GT front brakes. Braking performance is similar to the 87-93 5.0 stock front brakes. A cheap upgrade is the us the calipers and brackets from a 99-2003 GT. Those are aluminum dual piston calipers mounted to the 10.9" rotors.
