its cursed. back together and still not running right.

the random stalling problem is back. sometimes it'd pop then code 42 and continue to run (like ****).. swapped ign modules and it still does it. got a new ecm from the pick u part.. still does it. accel coilpak on it.. still does it.

cant go over half throttle, EVER.. without the car popping..

blah blah.. also think i need a new flywheel.. think the bolts are loose or something


gimmie a ****ing break.. argh.



anyone know what else could cause the car to just randomly stall.. sometimes it restarts sometimes it doesnt.. really really fed up with this thing right now.
 
what do you mean by a poping sound?? if you could maybe explain it a little better i could help you i have an 84 t-type also
it could be alot of things im book here lists three things for this code 42

1) Electronic spark timing (EST) circuit could be open or shorted to ground during engine run

2) Direct ignition system (DIS) fault bypass circuit open or shorted to ground during engine run

3) Fuel cutoff relay circuit -open or shorted to ground.

it could be one of these things maybe. You probably checked all these already but you never know

i dont care about the popping.. just want to finally figure out why it stalls and fix it.

but yeah.. ive checked 1,2,3
 
i cant go past 5psi boost.. about half throttle so no need for propane.. tank has been empty.

My car was doing the random stall thing.
Couldn't figure it out.
Turned out to be a wire in the ignition module/coilpack wire loom was contacting metal.
Had to go into the wire loom to find it.
Same symptoms random stall,sometimes it would start right back up.

My car did the very same thing. I called myself installing a Autometer Monster tach and did not properly install the lead on my coil/module (actually I probed the need wire and skinned the wire enough to make a connection and I did not tape or solder :-(
:confused: :mad: ) Well, I went a couple of days before the car started poping and bucking like a bronco. I later discovered MY MISTAKE..... Don't give on the car..... TOO Many people are depending on you :D I for one have followed your post and updates on the site......

Sounds just like a bad MAF to me. Not sure about the code 42, but my '84 GN did the pop after half throttle when I first got it.
 
Nick, it does sound like a wiring problem...Start the car and let it idle...Then, one at a time, start wiggling the main coil pack wiring harness and the cam sensor and crank sensor harnesses...If the car stalls while you are wiggling the wires, you found the problem...

Had that happen to me...I ended up getting the coil pack harness with cam and crank sensor pigtails from Caspers and then cutting and soldering the Casper's harness on...I got the harness that has the 86/7 coil pack wiring(so I don't need the adapter) but with the 84/5 cam and crank sensor pigtails...

Let us know what you find out...
