Hey Mac, is that some kind of Whippet mix in the middle?? Im looking for a whippet, and they are impossible to find...

2QUIK6 - Rob, one of my girls is Roxy too :-)

Mac in SD - Greyhound or large Whippet? What type of hardwood floor do you have? The lighter wood under the couch. How does it hold up to toe nails?

Bass - I am betting on Greyhound. If it is a Whippet he/she looks larger than breed standard. :-)

Hey, guys..that's Homer, an ex-racing greyhound. He's actually a pretty big fella' - 98 lbs. last time at the vet. He's the second one we've had. Rocket gave up the ghost three years ago, and we had him for 11 years. We went to the greyhound rescue the day after he died to pick this one out.

He looks "whippet-ish" because he's snuggled in next to Daisy - our Irish Wolfhound, tipping the scales at a delicate 165. The smallest (black) one is Lucy - mother was a Golden, father unknown.

I really recommend that anyone looking for a dog should check out the ex-racing greyhounds. They're great dogs! And the females can be really dainty, almost whippet-like, if that's what you want. Really - check out your local greyhound rescue. You won't be sorry.

Renthorin: The hardwood is an engineered oak with a 25-year guarantee. But the nails have done a number on the high-traffic, spinning-the-wheels areas. Oh, well. If they were kids (and they might as well be), I'd expect some wear and tear anyways, right? :D

Mac,

My sister got her GH from rescue. We have tried to rescue via Siberian rescue but Sibes just don't see the humor in non-pack-raised family members suddenly showing up.

I have heard good things about Pergo as far as resistant to dog nails and such.
