"My Gbody With Grand National Hood"

Hey guys though id join the fourm since i love gbodys and grand nationals, i have a 78 chevy malibu 350/200-4r tranny out of GN, recently got a GN hood to go with it...hope fully one day i can get me a GN and push all that V6 horsepower and ride like a champ...

Heres the process of the hood, just had my body guy fabricate my old hood...as u can see i was going for that GN look....alot of people confuse it as a GN>..lol

Hey santos, that hood came out really good. I thought about doing that to my malibu hood but I just decided to stick to the cowl hood. Ive followed your build on maliburacing and its come along way. Good job

Thanks buddy, hood was easy for the body guys, i found out that a OG GN hood bolts up, but u need to modify the front header panel and stock hood lines, so the best way was to cut and mold on the stock malibu hood...came out sweet...

Run real good...no problems engine wise...i just finished her, so really havent punched it much....i will post a vid soon

LOL! thanks, and no its not a 2004r it currently has the th350 in it and its getting swamped out at the moment...i blew the th350 wont go into drive only reverse...i didnt ck fluids when i started driving, but the weird thing is that it had fluids 2 wks ago, and when it went out on me last week, the fluids were gone!!!! fustrating i know.... But i got a 2004r from my buddys elko, has a shift kit and hits hard...im waiting on my driver side extention from summitracing to get it going...i modified my 2004r crossmember the same way...also need to hit the yard to get me another drive shaft...the one in know is cut to fit a th350 long nose, so it will be too short...im thinking med feb i should have her up and running..

hello; I'm not a big fan of the rubber bands either but I do like your car. Those rims are what size and who's are they? Speaking of rubber bands the SUV's I see like that are a joke. But to each there own.

Lmao!! Thanks guys, they are 22" 8.5 front and 22" 9.5 rear stagger look... They are American Racing torqe thrust Wheels.. And i know that the big tires are not for everone, but out here in cali its a must lol

dayum thats exactly how i wanted to finish my malibu but i sold it to buy my first 87 gn so i cant really complain...i thought about doin the same thing to my hood buy i always like the 03 cobra hoods and how they looked... heres a pic of mine before i sold it it was i wanted to put the flush bumpers on it too..and rubberbands are mandatory out here cali 22s 24s sometimes 26s but you can alaways find a gbody on some nice 22s riding around were im from...good looking car need video..

I ordered my 78-83 gbody frame extention to mount up my 200r4 crossmember from summit racing.

Also hitting the yard this weekend to get me a drive shaft since the shaft i have know is too short...i figure if i get one from a gbody cutlass/olds/lemans/malibu it should fit like a glove...then getting crossmember welded and off to transmisson shop..

those badlanz cutsouts are garbage per my experience...that guy sent my 4 free motors a few years back . maybe they are better now.

Here i go here i go guys!!! Back at it again, day off and i was hitting them yards, i cant stay home and just chill!! I need to keep myself moving and pushing forward!!

Went to my welder and hes actually geting better, the th350 was crossmember was ok, but this time his welds were way better, he gets all pumped up when i show up :rofl: he did it for free this time, i guess peeps have been showing up to his muffler shop to get work done and mentioning my name!! SWEET!! So that was good. $20 saved :wink:

Then back at hit!! Hitting them yards like krazy looking for a drive shaft and luckly i found it at one yard.. Came off a 87 chevy monte carlo with a 200-4r tranny and measured in at what i needed.. 56 1/2 inches.. I found a diagram of the tranny measurements and went from there, went under the malibu to take measurement, measured the 200-4r then the th350, then the drive shafts and all is good, should fit like stock :mrgreen: i did notice all gbodys that had th350 with small tailshaft measured in at the the same length driveshaft i needed

Hitting tranny shop soon!! Calling my man ace for the posi rear install, and back at it hitting corners.. Stay tuned 8)
