I went at it on the rear brake set up this morning, removing the axles were easier than i thought, still having ace come when ready to install them to make sure all in properly.. i had to take apart the hole drum set up since the upper bolt was moving... Went through alot of drill bits and two sawzaw saws one for ea side... Also got my rear studs Dorman 610-323 54mm long... Still need brake pads for front and rear, but soon..
Basicly if u follow Skip's Youtube vids.. U will get it done.. Do ur homework with his youtube page and its a brezze!! Almost there.. Thanks again to Skip for the easy step by step process of tackling down the rear disc convertion :) ..

22" american racing wheels, they actually look bigger in person...lol

The brakes on their own look great but behind them rims they look small and out of place.
With them HUGE wheels and looking for a "look" i would step up to the bigger vette system to fill in all that space.
BTW i am going with them same brakes on my car but going with 18s so the gap wont be as big. i look at this like a fender to wheel cap that i am trying to eliminate.

Ace showed up this morning to put my axles in and cover also to make sure the posi unit was back in correctly, so far so good.. I will repaint the calipers and PAB bracket when ready.. Installed the brake lines and looks legit!!

Ace had the same setup on he elco, so i checked it all out and looks clean... He told me i should be fine.. Everything looks in the right place and he snapped some pics..lol...

On the Rear disc did you put them
L on the R side?
OR
L on the L side?
I am about to this on my car and was told that switching them would make the E-Brake stuff easier, Just curious as to how you did yours??

BTW looks badass

Thanks!! lol, along way coming on these brakes....

Ummm i dont think it matters, the ebrake is always located on the bottom of the camaro rear backing plate, it will function the same way, it just depends on how you want the brakes to sit....im going with them to the front so im doing L to L/ R to R.., if u want to do the calipers to the rear, then thats when u do the L to R and R to L so that the caliper is at the rear.., but the ebrake is in the same position, and u would have to relocate the shock or it will hit the caliper.. if that makes since...LoL... Ck out (GTSDESIGNS) on youtube, he has step by step on how to do this and makes it easy...hope this helps..

Cool thanks for the reply.
The E-Brake cable comes in from the Rear on the F-Body. I've heard people say that switching them makes the Cable work/hook up easier.

Ok so almost done with the brake set up, got to test drive on monday, and had some little things that need to be taken care of, my master cylinder is leaking like crazy!!!! :wtf: so MC Rick had told me that he changed his Master cylinder for a bigger one and works out well under alot of pressure... I also had a rear passanger side axle leak!! :wtf: Contacted Ace, and he will come back of to replace the seal and that should tackle that...
Over all it ran good! Stopping is so much better, feels like my durango and mustang when i brake, real good....I think everyone should get this set up done...takes alot of time and patients, but u will get there...Follow Skips youtube page and the rear will work out smoothly.. Also got my Master cylinder today, Rick is going to help me install it within the next couple of weeks, Ace is just one phone call away, just need to take some time away from the Malibu for a while and spend more time with the Family... Family comes first, cars can wait! Feel me..  Enjoy the pics..

Thanks (turbopowered68)
Ok guys....
So i bench bleed the master cylinder... I ended up getting a stock new 78 master cylinder... I guess the mc1926 mc was too big and not fitting... But will fit new gbodys maybe 80-87... 78 just a difficult yr to interchange parts!!! I self bleed the brake myself with a home made bleeded, which worked out great... Pedel feels way tighter and better than before.. Will test drive tomorrow.. All looks good and so far no leaks... Also had Ace come yesterday to replace the axle seal and so far so good no leaks there either... Happy all is taken care of...
