My Hot Air Plan!

So, I changed my mind recently on getting a 86/87 GN and stay with my 84, the 86/87 may be easier to mod but i'm up for a challenge. I got a list on what i want to do, this mods would happen in the order of the list tips and comments on what else i can do would be great.

1.Racetonix Fuel Pump Hot wire kit.
2.Walbro intank pump
3.Performance Fuel Filter
4.3.73 Posi Unit
5.160 degree Thermostat
6.Aluminum Radiator
7.T33c Turbo from Limit Engineering
8.45.2 Fuel Injectors
9.Revolution X Roller Cam Kit
(206/210 .516/.516 110 L/S) Witch one better with my mods?
(210/215 .516/.516 110 L/S)
10.Spohn Sway Bars Set
11.Razors Alcohol Kit
12.Some drag radial that will stick to the road.

Pro help would be great I've only had my GN for a over a year(bought it when i was 17)But i know what I'm doing. Car Currently has 80,000 miles on it.

im no pro but this is what i would change from your list



3.Performance Fuel Filter-- there is no performance fuel filter

4.3.73 Posi Unit---don't waste your time. the stock 3.42 is perfect

8.45.2 Fuel Injectors-- do it right the first time get the 60's and a TT chip

9.Revolution X Roller Cam Kit--- scrap this as well. stock cam is fine. now if there is something wrong with the stock cam then thats different. i would go with a 206/206

10.Spohn Sway Bars Set---- just my personal opinion but HR Parts N Stuff makes better suspension stuff.


also as far as the order i think its way off from being what to do first. what kinda of scan tool do you have? if nothing that should be at the top as well.

x3 here. I have the stock cam, stock rear end posi and made the mistake of 42.5 injectors. HR parts does make really good stuff. The problem issue ahead will be the passenger side exhaust header. Keep posting and reading. Brad

well your going to have to convert to an 86-87 ecm. once you do that get a powerlogger. www.fullthrottlespeed.com

(206/210 .516/.516 110 L/S) Witch one better with my mods?

For duration, stock cam will work.
For longevity, the 206 should work with that turbo.
Head work will be required to make this work.

Are you planning on porting the heads and what RPM will you shift at?
What size tires and rear end?
Looking for 1/8 or 1/4 mile performance levels?

I would also add alcohol injection, since that will give you the biggest bang $ for $.

not sure if you plan on going that far with the car. if so i would get the intake ported and get some champion ported irons or get some ported irons from nick at www.arizonagn.com

No, you gave great info, I guess i hust want it in a list form as i already bought a 86/87 ecm and maf. i just want to know what else i needed thats all

just swap ecm's chips maf and your good to go if i remember right

Just made the conversion....

1. 86/87 MAF
2. 86/87 ECM w/CalPack (or swap the one from the 84)
3. MAT installation kit or TT chip with MAT delete. (I've heard you'll throw a trouble code if you don't do one or the other).

I haven't been able to drive mine yet because winter sucks, but she fired right up instantly and purred nicely (other than the water pump screaming for some attention)after sitting for two months.
