My trans might be fixed!!! But there's still one more problem..

Ok, well we recently put in an '87 GN trans in my '86 GN, and after we put it in, the trans wouldn't shift out of 2nd and the converter would lock when we stopped.
We tried adjusting TV cable, to no avail..but we KNEW we needed a TCC solenoid but we didn't think that'd help the shifting problem..now I went away for 3 days and got back and my friend told me that they popped in the TCC solenoid and I'm pretty sure they were saying that it shifted into 3rd and 4th..but the shift points on 3rd and 4th were alittle weary. He thinks it may be because of the speed sensor (we're almost positive it's broken) but I think we should mess around with the TV cable..what do you think??

The only thing electronically controlled on the trans is the tcc solenoid, nothing electrical will make a differance in shifts, unless the maybe the tcc is lockup when it tries to shift.

I had the same problem and I started a post "Tranny problems" It ended up being the TV cable out of adjustment. Try it out.
