Need a 'delay relay/switch' for audible knock sensor

After years of it beeping, I want to stop my audible knock sensor from going off when I'm starting the car. I tried hooking into IGN3 so it doesn't get power in the 'start' position. Still goes off. If someone can point me in the direction of a pre made sort of delay / etc. , that would be great. I do my own car work, but shouldn't of slept in electronics class.. so no elaborate schematics please or I'll be like

Just pick up a cheap timer, an Altronix 6062 12 volt timer will do what you need.

No, the power up is delayed.
