First let me say I do not profit from this in any way. I'm just letting my extended Buick family know about an opportunity.....

As you may know, I get all my cars - including the GN - from a family friend who is in the salvage biz. This friend just picked up about 100 NEW (never been titled) 2004 and 2005 vehicles from a Buick/Olds/Pontiac dealer that had a freshwater flood. There are also some used vehicles in the mix.

There are Century's, LeSabres, Montanas, Vibes, Sunfires, Grand Ams, Grand Prix's, a Silhoutte, and a bunch of Rendevouz. All are around 1/3 sticker. They're currently being washed, the fluids changed, and started up. They're being sold in running condition, but interiors will need disassembled and dried out.

If they're not sold in 3 weeks they're going back to auction.

Obviously there's some risk involved in purchasing a flood car, and I'm not sure what kind of title you get (probably PA salvage). Cars are in central PA.

Pics are here: http://www.muellersautorecycling.com click on "Vehicle Inventory".

If interested call Muellers or e-mail me.

Jim

PS - The Denali is mine :)

Thanks for the info, this may help many of our members so will keep it at the top for a while.:)

Thanks Nick. I figure most people here are mechanically inclined and wouldn't be afraid of the prospect of pulling one apart and drying it out.

If I hadn't already committed on the Denali I'd probably snag a Rendezvous.

I like those. It looks like a couple might be GTPs (I think he said he had a burnt orange GTP and a metallic green/gray one).

Give a call to Muellers and tell them you saw the cars on their site. John owns the place so you'll probably deal with him. I'd be happy to help get any questions answered, but you'll be dealing directly with Mueller's.

Tell him Jim sent you, too.

That's a pretty cool deal. I work for an LKQ plant here, which is a huge auto recycling corporation and once in a while we get brand new cars (20 to 30 at a time) in that have either been wrecked from a transport crashing or a train wreck, etc. And just recently we got 30 new Dodge Srattus's and Chysler Sebrings in for exposure to "acid rain". These are cars that have barely been damaged and some not at all! But the car corps. give us strict rules on how the cars are to be dismantled, including cutting 4in. out of the "A" pillars and floor so they can never be sold as a whole. Didn't mean to get of the subject. Man, if know what to look for, could be one hell of a deal!

I just took delivery of one of the flood cars tonight - a DeVille DTS. Yeah, it looks like an old fart car but with 300 HP and every creature comfort anyone could every want I couldn't pass it up.

Someone swiped the Night Vision gear from under the hood and the dash as well as the rear passenger climate control panel but unky says he'll make good on it.

I have to say it's a lot cleaner inside than I thought it would be, and it is indeed VERY wet.

Electrically it's a little messed up. Headlights work, tail lights and fog lights don't. Brake lights work (LEDs, glad they work - very expensive). It won't crank over, but the IP lights up. Power seats work, fuel filler door doesn't. Sunroof works, radio doesn't. I need to take the whole thing apart down to bare metal inside so maybe once it's put back together it'll work.

The leather has dried out very nicely but the foam underneath isn't gonna dry. I need to peel the leather from the seat frames.

Overall I think it's gonna work out great. The car retails for $25-28k. I paid about 1/4 that.

Anyhow, there's still a few of these left. Mostly Century's and Aleros and a few GPs. If anyone's interested let me know.
