Hey Everyone,

I have been screwing around with both my Buick cars for ever with vaious problems. MAF issues in my GN and trans pro setup issue sin my hybrid.

RichGN has been helping me with my setup and hear is what I found.

It looks like my externder Pro chip is bad.
Part number PWOX4BOF. Setup for 60lb injectors.

It is throwing all kinds of weird error codes including 51 and 55 with the Translator pro setup. In a last attempt I swapped in my old Extender chip setup fro 50lb injectors and all the error codes went away! How bad will the car run with chip for 50's and actual car with 60's until I get it replaced?

You sure the chip is bad and not that the socket on the ECM is worn out? Bad chips are a rarity.

The newer chips Bob is using has smaller prongs then previous ones and have trouble making a connection in the ecm socket.

Don't go crazy with that 50lb chip. It may idle and cruise alright but WOT,
I don't think thats a good idea.
What would you say Jay?

I am reading the codes with turbolink.

There are no codes with the 50lb. extender chip.

Car runs rough then stalls with the 60lb. extender pro chip.

Car does have new 60lb injectors.

The codes are phantom. The issues is that the Pro chip has the Scanmaster datastream. When you scan the ECM with TurboLink, the data is mis-interpreted.

If you are going to use TurboLink (the old version) you need to have the Pro chip re-programmed for the stock datastream. The latest version of TurboLink (version 4 I think) will properly read the high speed data.

I do have the latest version of tlink!
Regardless, the car runs like crap with the extender pro chip, runs decent with the extender chip.

Then set Tlink for the W datastream.

Are you remembering to change the F out mode to match the chip?

Regardless, we can certainly swap the chip for one with the stock datastream.

Thanks Bob,

I really appreciate your quick responses.

Yes maybe I should swap out the chip, what do I do?

I still don't see how or why that would make the car run bad?

if you can set tlink for the W datastream, then you can start tuning.

Bob

OK Bob, I will play some more this weekend!

How bad would an extender 50lb chip work with 60lb injectors?

it will just be rich, if the car runs better, then there is no issue using it.

0 for 2

I still have this problem too!

tlink w stream? maybe i need to set it for the scanmaster fast update?
