Here are a few pics of my new down-pipe. I just didn't like using the stock elbows. I was afraid that the waste-gate pucks were leaking. Besides, I had a bit of time while I waited for my new Progate wastegate to show up :) The Delta-gate was leaking BAD and I couldn't get more than 14 psi of boost, so I had to upgrade. That'll be a job for tomarrow, along with a new exhaust system with a cross flow muffler. Pics of that when I do that over the next few days. I was going to use two 2 1/2" pipes all the way out the back of the car, but it gets REALLY tight under the AC box and it would have taken WAY too much time for no gain. So, I used two 2 1/2" elbows feeding into a single 3" in front of the AC box. It'll be plenty of cross sectional area for the power goals of this combo. So waddaya think? :)

I've seriously considered a new career, but "Airplane have been very-very good to me." Kinda hard to walk away from 25 years of makin' things fly through the air, to just makin' things fly ;)

Looks great, but a single big turbo will make more power r. Been there and done that 3 years ago...The velocities into the turbo's will not be correct, you need 3 cyls merging into a collector at each turbo with equal lengths, as in project x many years ago.

Yes, a big single could make more power. That wasn't the goal here. The goal was to PROOOOVE that they DID build a twin turbo FBI car ;) .

holy hell.... you gotta warn someone before posting stuff like that!

I just belted out the F-bomb at work....

You should be workin' and not surfin' the web :D . Maybe I should have labeled it "NSFW"? ;)

Hey Norb, do you have any pictures of "Project X" I would love to see them. :) What problems did you have? Tony DeQuick had good results from a twin stock turbo project. I have built a few twin turbo engines in my day and would like to compare notes. Fill me in if you would. I have built everything from turbocharged V-tec's to Twin turbo 355 Ferrari's to Twin supercharged Rolls-Royce Griffon V-12's (2,240 cid) and have built a TON of 1820 cid-2,800 cid aircraft engines (both Prats and CW's)(Ok, so they weigh over a TON each ....I know) along with turbines of various configurations. I love to hear about experiences with new designs/concepts.

Yes i do have pics, i will find them, just need to dig deep. Problems i had was the twin turbo's did not make good power (lost 80ft torque on dyno, compare to single large turbo). if one turbo spins faster than the other, they seem to fight each other, reducing overall power. WIth that setup it looks better than my setup, but you still got one turbo there with an extra cyl bumping the veliocity. It could cause problems, you would have to measure the rpm of each turbo to see if its an issue.

Ken,
Very nice work. Could you tell me where you purchased the intercooler pipes. I need to go to 3" on my setup and was looking for an aluminum pipe supplier.
Thanks,
Jeff
