If water is pouring out then you should be able to quickly find the leak. I've used almost every head gasket available including copper. Believe it or not the copper gasketed Engine was together longer than any other engine I ever had in any of my cars. Like 6 years and 500+hp the entire time. Copper head gaskets require extra work and never seal water 100% but they certainly didn't drip out the side of the block like a waterfall. For 9 second power a steal shim head gasket is recommended.
