I just joined the website and can hopefully use your guys help. I live in a western suburb of Chicago and bought a 86 GN last year. The trans is slipping (or not wanting to go). The guy I bought my car from had Brian Huffer build the trans but cant get a hold of him anymore. I dropped the pan and it was spotless and nice and pink with no burn smell. Anyone know what the problem could be or who I can trust in the area to take it to?

There's a list of Builders here>> http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/transmission-talk/84598-i-want-everybody-know-exactly-who-who.html
Someone may know a Builder closer to you.

What exactly is the Trans doing? All gears slip? Doesn't want to move at all?
Any noise?
Fluid level full?
To check to see if the Pumps working, check the fluid level with Engine off, start Engine & check level, if it drops lower to the Check Indicator marks it's pumping.
If yes, there's a port just above the Shift Shaft lever on drivers side of Trans. Install a 0-300psi gauge & check pressure @idle & @1000rpm in P-R-N-4-3-2-1, write down readings. This will help diagnose your problem.
