OK. I was asking because I have access to a tire mounting machine and balancer. I am not sure if I would try it on nice wheel like yours though :D . I have mounted my centerline convo pros on the same machine. Let me know.

I went by Haygood yesterday around 5 and there was a decent amount of cars out there. Mostly Mustangs  (eeeeeeew!)... but I did notice that there were VERY few imports out there this time. Kinda nice to see for a change. Actually had some nice looking 60's and 70's era cars out there too. Evidently I just missed a couple Buick guys... Any of you show up?

Additionally, I met "Bud". He's got a really good running Buick Roadmaster Wagon. Kinda funny to see under the hood. he's got the Corvette labels on his valve covers and such. Anyways, he's in the "Virginia Beach Buick Club". I didn't know we had a chapter out here. He said they meet the third Tuesday of each month at Perry Buick (Va Beach Blvd @ Newtown Rd) in the employee lounge at 6:30 pm. There's a good variety of cars that are represented, from GN's to 70's GS's and 50's models. Might be interesting to get involved. I've been a member of the GS Club of America, Buick Performance Group, and the Houston Buick Club for years. Maybe we can get the Buick Club involved in some Ford vs. Buick action or the likes at the track. Club vs. club. Anybody interested? The next meeting will be 19 Febuary.

Thanks Mark, will do it next weekend now, I just woke up....or sometime during the week.....

First off, sorry Tracey for your loss.

Well, I got my front tie rod sleeve and rear brakes done. The boss lady helped me with the bleeding of the brakes and that was all she wrote. After installing the tie rod sleeve, the car seem to be firmer when taking turns and no more pulling to the side.

Stop by Steve's house for a quick minute and got a chance to see some of his work. That's very impressive Steve!! ;)

After driving the car practically for most of the day, I finally got a good feel for the tires and to my disapointment they slighty rub when I take a sharp turn. Other than that, it feels great! I'm glad to have better braking power. Next project is to investigate the mysterious oil build up up front. Right I can't pin point, but Steve gave me a few pointers on what to look for (thanks). Hopefully is nothing major (fingers crossed).

I might be halluscinating, but I seem to remember someone saying they had a set of front air dams they were looking to part with.... Anyone? I may have heard it from somewhere else.

The more I see pics of GNs, the more I wish I would have kept mine after I went with the fiber bumper.... Grrrr....

Quick question...

As most of you know, I did my rear brakes this weekend. Got them bled and all and they felt good yesterday. Well this afternoon on my way home my brakes locked up twice! What could be the problem? I bled them pretty good and I couln't find a good answer on this site. Any thought??

I think Steve mentioned that the lower air dams are still available from GM when we all got together..

Maybe that was it. I'm kicking myself right now because I left mine attached to my bumper when I sold it. Doh! I'll have to stop by buick this week and see what they want for em.... Kirban has em for $80.....

Ouch! the rears locked up or all 4? What were you doing when they locked up? Just cruising or were your braking?

I'll take em. Have to wait 'til Thursday. That's when I get my allowance.

After looking under the front, I think they'll work with the fiber bumper. If not, I'll just velcro them... Maybe Duct-tape...

Air dams were discontinued in the past month. Came out in a Kirban email I get. Someone will reproduce in fiberglass,I bet.

Brakes.... how hard were you on them when they locked? They will lock up under hard braking, that's just a mid 80's Gbody brake thing. Usually the rears lock up.

I was just cruising when all of the sudden the rear locked up. As far as braking system, I have the old school vacuum system. I think I'm going to bleed all four and see what happens. Maybe gravity bleed them...

My springs came today (Moog CC627). I couldn't wait and went out and put em in. Only took about 45 mins... not too bad. It definately brought the rear up a little bit. Right at 1 1/2 inches. I still haven't driven it, but it sure does look better...

In case anyone was wondering, the Test and Tune at NED was cancelled for today. Oh well. Maybe next time. I go back to the ship on Tuesday and will be in and out of town quite a bit. 3 weeks out 1 week in seems to be the trend.

On another note....Anyone familiar with the GEN2 MAF translator? I just picked one up (its in the mail). Got the GEN2 and a good LS1 MAF for $250. Do I need a scantool to get the car running at least as it is now with the new MAFT? or will the default settings get it running?

Got my answer from Bob at Full Throttle. Says default settings will work fine...

I don't have ant pics yet,but I pulled the motor and trans outta the GN today. I got a lot of cleaning and painting to do,PLUS upper control arm bushings. Probably won't drop it in until next weekend and try to finish it up then also. I am gonna take Sunday afternoon to sitdown and watch the Daytona 500.

Anybody else wrenching.....;)
