No more power antenna

Decided to upgrade my stereo system again. I'm going to have the car repainted over the winter. I was thinking about eliminating the power antenna. Is there a good antenna out there that I can place under the dash or under the headliner? A new headliner is also on the list of things to do. Lastly, do you feel it will decrease the value of the car not having the power antenna?

I was thinking of doing the same thing. I've seen Dakota digital has a concealed antenna that you can install under your dash or inside your car I think I'm a go that route myself.

I ordered a radio and an antenna that goes under the dash. I will give it a try and if works well, I will delete the power antenna. If it doesn't work well, I will keep the power antenna. Now the issue is if not having a power antenna will decrease the value of the car.

If your car is a real low mileage original I would say to not cover the fender hole. You can always go with a non power in the hole.

High mileage. Many mods. Some rust, hence the new paint job. Thanks for your opinion.

I seen gbody selling the adapter for the antenna built into the windshield.. I guess the hardest part would be getting the windshield?

Would be interesting if possible to convert the rear defogger into an antenna?

I eliminated my power antenna. I put a fixed mast on it instead.

welded mine up,put windshield in with antenna in it. looks great,works great

thanks, put the new radio in and used the power antenna due to the fact that the wrong antenna was sent to me.

Which cars can we use whindshields from with a built in antenna? Do we need an adapter/extension to plug in the readio?

Any glass shop can order the windshield ... Mine was 125 installed a month ago

Adapter on eBay for $20, just need to drill a hole. The firewall is already marked and you can route the cable by just removing the top dash cover.
