i picked a used brf today and the guy said every gear worked great shifted fine except overdrive.he said it was rebuilt at 1 time and it looked like it from the outside.not all greasy.the servo cover was billet.and the splined part where the convertor goes is obviously a newer hardened part.

so what went wrong with this tranny? he said it was super clean inside?
how far apart does this need to come apart to be fixed?overdrive in the front part or rear part of tranny.he also said there was red clutches and steels in there as well.

Very front of trans---sometimes I find it necessary to back off the TV cable a couple clicks from the factory setting to drop line pressure slightly and this allows the trans to shift into 4th as it should. I don't know enough about the fluid circuit to say why some trans with higher higher line pressure has this problem. Best of luck.
