no start

I have a strange no start issue. Power comes on when key is selected but will not engage the starter. This only would do this once in a while but has got worse as time goes on.

Example: Start the car two or more times in a row. The third or forth time it will not start. Fuseable link heating up? The security light sometimes will come on also when running.

does a fuseable link slowly fail??

My car did the same thing, it would start once and not the next. I ended up getting a new ignition switch with new keys.

Update

Fuel pump does not run with ignition on. All lights and systems not related with start or pump work fine. Vats?? How do I troubleshoot the box or key resistor?
