SignUp Now!84 did not have a 109 block. I have been told hot air pistons are different than intercoled pistons due to the blocks having different deck heights.
Also turbo pistons are different than naturally aspirated pistons
Just trying to help![]()
Told ya I get a set from an 85 Jim. You want some pics?

The piston compression height appears to be the same. The difference is in the head gasket thickness. .017 compressed on the tall deck blocksI have about 6 late 85 engines none were 109's they had 140 casting # but did have 20 bolt pans and timing covers. Per bison the older blocks had a different deck height therefore different pistons.
I'm not trying to sell the guy anything just trying to help him from buying the wrong parts that's all!!!!
I got this engine out of a 84 or 85 regal with low miles and original to the car. It is weird thou it is a 20 bolt pan and 109 last 3 numbers on the block.
