Well make up a itinerary of where you want to go!
Check the time that it takes at each place how long to go from one place to another.
Times at pretty important when you are there.( to see the various tourist locations, all have schedules)
Make sure you schedule free time too. During the free time talk to the locals and ask them what is interesting that they know of that is not in the various info you can not get anywhere else. ( may or may not be what you like)
If you plan on going to the Statue then be there for first in the morning, people line up early for that. So be there before the line start that is a place you want to go first in the morning.
Definitely need to take in a show on Broadway, book it now. . .
Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is pretty cool , you can spend days there.
Empire State building is pretty cool too. A lot of info related to it, things people would not even have thought about. If any of you have motion sickness make sure you take gravol for them. hehe
Rockefeller Centre is cool too , you can do the guided tours there too, a lot of fun. Blow a day real fast.
You can also do a helo ride around the city too, pretty cool.
Do a carriage ride around central park with the g/f or wife.
Late afternoon before going to dinner at the planned restaurant.
There are also bus tours that you can go on for a nominal fee. ( they take you around to the highlight as they know them, they are a haft day typically)
A week is not a very long time to see much, but there are great place there to enjoy.
You can save a money if buy your tickets now for all the place you plan to visit.
