OE Valve Cover color?

I need to redo my valve cover since all the paint (if any) is now gone. What was the original color?

Anyone have any pics of ther and or modified one would be nice to see.

I might go for aftermarket ones.

Original was just aluminum, no paint.

To make them look new...clean them up...bead blast if necessary...spray with hi-temp aluminum spray...then light misting of hi-temp clear spray...won't look right at first...but few heat cycles and it will look perfect...

I probably have my freind to powder coated them. I think this will be the best.

get cast aluminum not just aluminum it will look too metallic also dont get cast iron by mistake

I just had mine and my intake powder coated black, it is easy to clean not to mention they look sweeeeeeeet!

The valve covers originally had a rough metallic like finish on them. Kind of like a cheap ass glitter job or very fine metallic silver paint. The finish wore off from the heat in a very short time. I have pics of a darn near mint condition one I replaced on my 86 GN back around 1988 or so if anybody needs one to see what I'm talking about.
