Man that thing is FAST! That doesn't mean I recommend this kind of behavior on the street tho....

He got screwed, that sucks for him...but 195 mph is ridiculous on a public road...way too many things can go wrong. Whats the deal w/ an "arrest"? wonder what he was charged with although I could probably guess a few charges. Maybe Brett will chime in and fill us in on possible charges :D

So THAT'S the guy who was following me in my '87 GN.:D Good thing I was able to pull away safely. Damn tailgater!

The add states....... "There's no way they can prove how fast he is going other than him saying its 195. It certainly looks slower than 195 but probably still in the 140 range."

Not true. Time over distance is easy to calculate and is more accurate then laser. what an idiot but im sure he's not the first or last to pull that off and fail to realize the consequences. If his face or voice was not on video they would have nothing.

Most people crumble under pressure while being interrogated. Especially when ur not a full time liar/criminal. He should have denied everthing. They would have had a tough time getten a warrant.

If he admits to it then reckless operation and a long suspension will likely occur IF they decide to even prosecute. He will argue that he was just saying he was goin that fast to get people to buy his car but then he's subject to fraud charges....lol

They must not do the same in Russia? I thought this was kinda nutty.

They ARE annoying,aren't they?

I can still hear Jerry Reid...........So now we're East bound and down......

Brett will enjoy this.

A couple of weeks ago I had to go to a friends house out in the middle of nowhere at the Florida/Georgia line and it was a clear, sunny, cool day so I took the T.

I cruise the speed limit for about 20-30 miles and hit some open two lanes with no cross streets or driveways for miles so I gas on it for 15-20 seconds and run up to 140+ and hold it for a few seconds before letting it coast down.

At about 80-85 I blast past a trooper in the brush (never saw him until I went past), OH ####. He hits the lights and whoops the siren so I pull over and don't make him have to gas on it.

He pulls behind me and I watch as he comes out holding his holster and taking a wide berth to the T. It's a customer of mine the only trooper I know in the whole state. Thank You God!!!!!!!!!!

He gets close enough to recognize me and says "you idiot". We talk for a few minutes before he says "I'm not gonna write you but don't ever let me catch you or hear about you doing that again".

In the mean time about 15 "good ole boys" come out of the woods and fields to see what all the disco lights are about. Hunting season!.

Merry Christmas too me!

Mikey

I believe the motorcycle vid was sped up at times to make him appear to moving faster than he was. Still crazy!! I can ride but don't own a bike yet. Its the other drivers that scare me more than my own antics. Hell, driving my daily is scary enough on the commute to and from work in Chicago:eek:

So he is guilty of being a lier. That was no 195. Also charge him for what? speeding? No police officer was there to see it. No proof of the speed. Charge him for 1 VC head up a$$. Not saying you should do that or saying it is cool but that is a retarted arrest. Oh on a side not time over distance is the defination of a speed trap can t do that. At least in California and Arizona

Wrong. Its called Vascar and has been used in every state for decades.

Then I guess Arizona's court system got it wrong when they made the city's take down all the speed cameras on the freeway that calculated your speed that way.

VASCAR (Visual Average Speed Computer And Recorder) is a semi-automated technique, invented in about 1967 in the United States, for determining the speed of a moving vehicle over a predefined distance.

A VASCAR unit couples a stopwatch with a simple computer. An operator records the moment that a vehicle passes two fixed objects (such as a white circle or square painted on the carriageway) that are a known distance apart - a speed is calculated by dividing the distance by the time.

Laws and rules of criminal procedure vary from state to state, I doubt any charges would hold up in court in my state of PA. The prosecution would have to establish the date and time of the offense.

As stated before, the driver may have confessed to doing these things. He clearly broke the law and taped himself doing so. Chalk it up as a dumb idea!

I would think it would depend on how he confessed. If the cops posed as buyers then it's a weak case of fraud, no worse than stores advertising 50% off after a 100% mark up. If he new they were cops and he admitted to doing 195 then he deserves to be arrested due to his idiot factor.

As for the driving, he only passes 3 cars and two of them at a relatively low speed. And I enter most fwys that way anyway. Esp the south end of the NB 55 in costa misery.

The guy on the bike has a death wish.

A good attorney would argue that due to video encoding twice, there is no real way to tell the time it really took to cover any distance. Encoded to make it a video file and then when it was uploaded to the web site and converted on their servers.
