I see no reason Mike shouldn't be allowed to run Q 8 or 16. He has probalbly sold go fast parts to half the V6 guys there.

I don't see why that would have anything to do with it.
Dragsters ran last year, i saw 2 run myself so i don't see why we need to "vote" on it.
I can see it being a problem with the doorslammers in q16 but not the bracket class as the dragsters probably have a 1000lb weight advantage or more if intentions are too run q16.
Personally i am all for seeing the dragsters run in the proper class!:smile:

I didn't think they had enough cars last year to even have a full Q16 field. Regardless, what was the et's of the slowest 2-3 Q16 cars?? I'd personally rather see something different like these turbo and blown dragsters than another 10 second car in Q16.

I believe the dragsters you saw last year just made time runs. Neither was in any type of class racing against anything. My car weighs 1860# with me in it, that might be 4 to 500# less than say the Galina or Bigwood car and they probably have a 1000# advantage over most of the rest of the cars in those classes and nobodys bitchin!! Also - takes about 400 HP to drive that blower.
Im a racer and not a show car. I dont tow hundreds of miles , and pay my way in to show off !! If I got FREE entry I would be willing to make exibition passes. I want to settle a score with the TA performance blown BBB car anyway. Otherwise I wanna race!! SOoo - Whats the proper class!! Mike

I hope to see you run at BG Mike, but we all know what the GSCA is like, i seem to recall reading that more "outside" cars well be allowed to run this year though........ i could be wrong.....
Thanks Mike. I dont even see how Im an outsider. Its a purpose built drag race car powered by a Buick v6. It "may be" the fastest buick powered car on the planet now since Barry switched to BBC.
I dont remember feeling like Big Daddy or Tommy Ivo was somekind of outsider because they put corprate engines into dragsters!! Maybe Im weird , but I thought most people considered them to be Kings of the sport!! Mike

I did not mean to imply that you were an outsider, i actually just did some checking around and on Tuesday evening locals well be allowed to race at Beech Bend for this year only, that is what i was referring to and just confirmed exactly where/when/how.
There is/was talk about a dragster class, but i.m.o. not enough rails to make it worthwhile...

Mike, Wasnt attacking your statement. You brought up a good point that that I am an outsider. Its not a DOOR car or buick body , Hell Its not even turbo charged!! Just thought I would vent at that thought. Mike

Mike, when i run q 16 few years ago at bg and mid west challenge i run against johns opel, so i dont see any difference running your digger as long as its bracket racing, if you run here on sat, nite bracket one and two, as well as the quick 8 dragsters run against door cars, but you allready knew that, hows our little round friend doing? later oc,,

That 1 or 2 might not be as easy as you think if Rod gets his hands on a TA block and some tune time that car is gonna be SICK!!!!
OC , Its all good. Gallina/Freeman had a full second on the whole field and that was fine. They have "ME" by a couple tenths and suddenly , its not fair
My round buddy is fine. Right now he wants me drive that purple car at BG!! I would like him to drive it himself , but I would be honered!!Later Mike
That would be great!! I know he wants to go much faster. After BPG when we ran and mine was just SICK , I told him I wanted a rerun!! His response was he wanted a couple tenths spot. Maybe heads up would produce the fastest side by side Buick race in history!! And with both being blown cars!!

I would like to see you run, it is buick powered. I agree probably s-16 or big gun, but they might just stick you in the hybrid class
. I don't see the problem letting you in a bracket race, its commonplace here locally for door cars to race dragsters, and even bikes. Also I will probably race s-16 again this year so I will be one that would be competing against you.

That rail was awesome at BPG. That's the loudest dam n V6 I've ever heard. It sounds better than music.
If what I say matters (and it don't) ...I say let the man run. How many other people will put their time and money into a project like this...just for the love of a Buick V6?
