Asked this in Brakes and Suspension but NR.

Inside top side wall of my passenger side front tire rubs the inner plastic fender well near downpipe when the front suspension goes into compression. front tires are not particularly large - 225/60-15.

car appears/sits fine when parked, and drives ok as long as it never hits a dip/rise at speed. lots of space between the tire and wheel well when parked. does not do this on drivers side tire

Did you check ride height? Maybe a weak spring. could be worn body bushings at core support. How are the control arm bushings? Alignment? neg camber . front end parts loose.

Above ideas are good.

Here is another one have someone follow you down the street to see how your car tracks....

all else fails meaning no bad suspension parts, I suggest you take it to a body shop have them put on a frame rack and see how straight the body etc is on the frame.

I had this issue with a car I almost bought made rite hand turns tire would rub inner fender left hand turns no issue....

your tires are not the issue as they are very close to the correct size 215/65 would be the correct size you are running I believe a Mustang size tire.

tire rub

I have the same issue going on however mine is at the very top toward the fender lip.I have changed the front springs already and I am running the gnx style wheels with the normal size tire.I have yet to have alignment done yet wich is top on my list,my car tracks fine and sits fine like the above stated,so im sure the alignment is slightly off with the changes I have made keep me posted on your findings please.

Had problem rubbing on dr side but only when turning wheel hard to one side. Took both fr wheels off and noticed the rubbing side inner fender was protruding right where it rubbed. Looked like inner had moved or was improperly installed and was bulging. Compressed the inner back into position and ran a self tapping screw/ferrel into frame and it works great.

I have 235-60-15's on the front and when turning if I hit a dip it will rub the inner fenderwell on the passenger side. This did not occur with the original sized tires BUT both wheel wells show signs of previous rubbing. The tie rod ends do barely rub the white letters on my reversed radial TA's when making tight turns. Since I have a PTE slic I have learned to judge when and where to turn and how fast to go.

how can you tell if a spring is weak? front stance looks ok. frontend parts could be worn out, but i'm not sure where to start. 130k mi, probably should replace everything

The bottom-out, rubbing problem is more frequent/worse with a passenger in the front seat. weak spring?

That sounds like the springs and shocks need replacing to me. have you checked your ride height yet?

front end "looks" like reasonable height to my untrained eye.

don't know how to measure that, i'll do a search on ride height measurement.

You can measure at the same location on the fender to get an idea and it just occured to me that you need to check the body bushings. They may be shot and the body is sitting lower on the frame because of it.

anyone know the expected finder height for a stock set-up? i'll do the relative comparison right vs. left. driver's side does not have this problem.
