Well, I have done a ton to this car already, but I'm torn on the next item. Besides tuning issues that may get me a couple tenths, I'm thinking my heads are strangling me right now.

However, I'm not sure how far the pt-52 will get me or if I'm missing something else that could help me for less money than alum heads or a port job.

....or if I should go alum at all...seems many think steel ported is just as good.

Take a gander at the website for the list of mods and let me know what would give me the biggest bang for $. Again, I really thought NOT porting my heads when this motor was in pieces was the wrong thing to do, but search the archives makes me wonder if I'd gain much at all. PLEASE ADVISE :)

i looked on your site first of all, absolutly gorgeous car man but what injectors are you running? I voted for port the stock heads and intake as its cheaper and will get you where you want to. A 52 should be good to the 10s, it just matters whether or not you have the fuel to supply everything. I'm pretty sure with your combo and a set of ported heads and intake you should see a 10. i'm hoping for a low 11 with my new race chip i just got and cooler weather so your 52 should be able to handle it with out a problem

Looking at your list of mods the car should be running very low 11's or very high 10's now, if you have enough fuel supply and run the boost up. You don't list any fuel upgrades on the site, at least not that I saw.

If it were my car I'd go up in turbo size and get a set of ported stock heads & intake.

Very nice car!!:D

I have it from a solid source that ported stock heads will go deep into the 10's 10-teens even. :D

Hey...thanks for the feedback guys!

My fuel mods are fairly mild: Hot wire, 50# MSD injectors, and one of those "syclone" fuel pump upgrades from postons (one of the very first mods I ever did to the car about 4 years ago).....I was going to change it to a walbro recently but many told me the pump would be just fine....but that was when I said I was running low 12s/high 11s.

...but it seems to be plenty since my current fp setting is below 40# static....car is still running rich and fp climbs 1# every # of boost

More important, if I were to port the heads and intake.....who the heck is the best guy???

Port the stockers, the aluminum heads aren't worth the headaches and won't take you any further than a good ported stock head...

I didn't see it but

Acohol injection!!!!

...I thought about alky....but isn't that for those running 93 octane?? I was under the impression that I won't gain much by using alky and 100 octane....correct me if I'm wrong.

The main advantage to alcohol is convenience. No need to drain the tank or wonder what is in there.

I run 26 PSI w/alcohol & 93. Cheaper to run alcohol too...it is only injected when needed.

IMHO, you dont' have near enough injector to get down into the 10's, and I'd want more fuel pump!!

Oh sure, there'll be guys coming out of the woodwork saying that 50's will run 10's. But it's rare, and dangerous. I personally wouldn't want to chance it.

That makes sense....but the one thing that I don't get right now is that I've been turning the fp "down" that last couple times out. However, I'm nowhere near 10s right now and if and when I get to 10s, I'll definitely upgrade the ecm/inj combo...I'm like you, why chance it.

Thanks for the link 86brick....but is this my only option for porting?? I guess I'd like to see some price comparisons.

Thanks again,
