Just found out tonight that Pinks is coming to Barona on Nov. 7th.

It's going to be a different kind of show. Not like Pinks or Pinks All Out, but produced by the same guys. Details to come later.

Thanks for posting in the Southwestern Section and good luck if you run.

I'm afraid the car is going to be down for the rest of the year.

Oh no!

what happened, found something wrong?
only good thing is were half way thru Oct, so 1st of new yr is just around the corner,
see ya Sat............

No. I think it's something different. New show title. I'll check to see if I can let the cat out of the bag.

I found the limits of the Felpro wirelocks. I'm switching to full copper with wire o-rings in the heads and receiver grooves in the top of the sleeves. Going to be upgrading the fuel system too.

OK. I found out that there's no classified stuff involved. This is a new show format that they're trying out. It may or may not make it to TV. It all depends on the footage they come up with. This is not the first shooting.

It will involve quick 8 racing!!! There's those that frequent Barona that are getting geared up for this. Big cube turbo and nitrous stuff!!! Get your fast cars dialed up and get them down here for this!

Anybody know how much it is to enter a car? Or to just go and watch?

Pricing is still up in the air at this time. The deal for the event was only recently settled.

I will guess 10 or 15 for entry and spectate. Then 30 more for tech card. So a driver with his car will pay 40 or 45. I'm only guessing from past special events. Don't hold me to this. As I learn more, I'll let you know.

The discussion, so far, has been that 2, 3, or 4 groups of 16 cars will be picked for heads up style run off. Also, a special quick 8 group will be picked. It was originally planned to be a night time event, but some are trying to get things started (qualifying) in the early afternoon, and maybe have the quick 8 run off first thing.

oh man, I'm giddy about this. I need to get my engine done before then. Lots of work to do. Don, you aren't going to have your monster ready for this? :(

Dude!! Just put some new wire-locks in there and GO!!!!

+1!

You cant miss out on this Don, your car is perfect for it. Hell, swap the old turbo back on if you don't think you can nail the tune with the new one in time and run your old tune. I'd be glad to lend a hand if you need one

More on the fees.

10 for entry.
+30 for a tech card.
That will, at the least, allow you to test and tune.

The plan is to run the typical gambler bracket events during this event also. Entries for the low gambler (non-electronics) is 20, and the high gambler (electronics) is 50. Signups are in the tower.

If you're going to participate in the arm drop show, you must sign up in the tower and there is an additional fee. 100% of the proceeds of this additional fee go back to the racers as winnings. I'll post what that fee is as soon as I know. I've heard that the typical 10,000 to the winner is going to be part of the show. How, I don't know yet.

Talk is that there will only be one qualifying run because of the loaded schedule. Make sure the car is tuned in before you show for this event. This will definitely screw me up.

There is a chance that a few local funny car owners will do some exhibition runs at this event also.
