Places to vacation with the family this year... advice

We want to rent a house on a lake this year, maybe boat/jet ski rentals and the such.

You guys have any recommendations?

Have been looking over Branson but its such a tourist trap thought maybe you guys would no of something not so commercial....

North Shore of Minnesota on Lake Superior about 60-80 miles south of teh Canuk border.

Tofte, Lusen, Grand Marias areas. Hiking, wildlife, swimming and fishing (Smallmouth, trout, walleye, lake trout, etc) in the rivers and lakes, canyons. Gods Country!!!!

Ill be there in Aug.... been goin every year since 2001.

If you don't want anything commercial if stay the he'll away from gatlinburg. To me that place is tacky city but kids like it. If you want a cabin I suggest the. North GA area. I can recommend a cabin company I use when I go if that is the direction you choose.
