I've been trying to explain this to my buddy for years. I keep telling him 25psi with my TE44 and stock heads isn't as hard on a motor as say 20psi with a 67 series or something with good heads but he thinks that the boost number is the end of a motor. FWIW, I run 25psi a lot but 20psi on street tires is enough to fry them on demand below 30-40mph so I run it there unless the Mickeys are on and then 25+ with TE44, single M15 alky, and stockish heads, mild flat tap cam.

30.4 is the max for a 3 Bar right? I wonder what it was in reality.

I haven't really turned mine up.I was running 25 most of last year and saw 26 a couple of frames on power logger in BG.but that's one of the reasons my redneck built 109 is only running 9.70s in a 9.20 class.

Not that I want to turn it up that much because 25 is going to be a handful already, but would a set-up like mine be able to push 30 PSI at the track? Or would that be asking for a disaster? I think the 6131 would probably be about out of breath by then anyways. 93/Alky stock heads, cam, 980 springs, 6131 Turbo 3" DP, 42.5lb injectors, razor's alky.

Im at 26-27psi with a stock heads/cam long block, 128K on it; fed by a old school journal bearing Limit TE-62. Car still runs good. That's on 93/alchy. Have seen as much as 29psi on my logs from early last year.
On a stock cammed/headed engine it will keep making power till you hit 52-53lbs/minute. Probably happen with boost in theZNix said:

I could convert that turbo to a 76 p trim and you could pick up a lot of potential mass flow if you do heads/cam/intercooler. You would likely be around 50lbs/min @28-30psi with your current setup. With the heads/cam/intercooler/76p you would be at 60lbs/min around 22-23psi and probably top out around 65lbs/min if you ran it around 26-27psi. That compressor is a gt35r and works really well on these engines around 2.5:1 PR. It never really got the credit it should have because it was often paired with a small turbine like yours so the potential could never be realized. Vendors pushed their own product rather than try to sell a turbo with the competitions compressor wheel. That compressor will support low 10 sec power. Even with a T350 turbine (aka6152) it will flow considerbly more than the small stage 3. the trade off is slower spoolup.
