I know this is seems like a brake question but its actually electrical. I keep blowing the pump out on my power master. The first one kept blowing the 30 amp fuse and the motor itself stunk of electrical burn smell. So I e-mailed hank for a new motor. I got it, put it in. I bled the new motor exactly like it said and I even checked the system, time of brake light on and time of motor on. The light went off after 5 sec. and the motor off after 9-10 sec.. I checked to make sure that it didn't turn on after 2 min. and it was fine. I also replaced the accumulator and I checked the grey pressure sensor. All that was good. Then I drove it around the block and the pump motor blew out agian and it had the same electricla burn smell. Now it will blow the fuse evertime I put it in. Does anyone have any idea why this pump keeps dieing. Finally I also checked thefeed and high pressure hoses for kinks and I checked the brake fluid level. Everything else was good. Damn things.............
Thanks for the help

You checked the fluid level, but what does the fluid look like? All black, with particles suspened in the fluid? If so, the fluid needs to be flushed from the master cylinder. Or better yet, order a master cylinder kit from GM and rebuild the master cylinder. Those black particles turn into goo near the power piston and brake piston. It also may cause the check valve to stick and allow the PM motor to constanly run. It will eventually burn the PM motor up.

I changed the fluid when I changed the motor. I have a rebuild kit on the way and I am getting another motor. I hope this does it. I am also going to replace the hoses and switch and proportioning valve.
Thanks Again
Kevin

I know exactly how you feel. I doubt it's an electrical problem. My PM Motor was getting tired so I bought a new one from Hank also. I put it in following the instructions and it lasted 2 DAYS! Same burnt smell your talking about. He said to send it back and they would see what went wrong with it. TWO MONTHS later and many calls they tell me it burnt up and I'll have to come up with another $100.00 for a new one. I put my old one back in and it's still working OK so I told them to send me back the burnt up motor and that I wasn't going to spend any more money. Guess what, They refuse to send me back my motor, will not give any refund, and insist nothing was wrong with the motor! So now they have my money, my motor, and your money. Best thing to do is to have nobody buy from them or GM and get rebuilt units where available because at least they have a warranty. Nothing like being screwed to the max by are own Turbo Buick enthusiasts is there.:(
