Just wondering if anyone runs one and if there are advantages to using it for the 1/8mi or 1/4mi. Or is it just a waste of time and effort?

I run a Rossler PowerGlide in the Opel (7.54 @ 185). Car weighed in at #2,700. Has a 1:80 1st gear. There are way too many variables in determining what transmission to choose. You are going to need to provide all of your vehicle information along with what your expecting to run in both the 1/4 and 1/8. Start with weight, HP, rear gear, tire size, engine RPM, etc. There a lot of 2004R and TH400 guru's on this site that could guide you in the right direction. Another factor is your budget. Whether it is the Rossler website (TURBO GLIDE XHDTM) or any of the other vendor sites, you will find these things aren't cheap. Good luck.

Oh wow! Didn't realize it was so difficult. Never mind! LOL. I have a BOP powerglide stock but I'll just get rid of it and keep the 200r4

Selling. I need Other stuff for the GN such as a good TA44 or TA49 for starters plus other stuff. $300 and it's still under the car('67 Lemans). Guess I should try the classifieds lol.

there have been some with success

using a powerglide, usually high hp. low weight cars,
for your normal turbo buick stick with the 200r4,
consult the list of trans guys on the board, they can direct you to the
right set up.
