Has anyone replaced the stock IC with this much deeper unit?

If so, what mods, if any, are needed, thanks?

We are also looking into installing alum heads on this project TTA, and am aware new and different headers are required which we can fabricate, and anyone's comment of experience doing this will also be appreciated.

After 25+ years of going faster with T-R's, I am considering a 9 sec. street TTA build [using e-85 of course]! :)

We just finished a 10 sec. street build on another e-85 TTA which turned out great, time to move up to another challenge!

I tried to fit a precision slic in my tta and it interferes with the steering. You would have to significantly dent the intercooler to make it work. I ended up selling it and taking a loss. Although if anyone can make it work, I'm sure you can Nick!! :)

ps: still trying to get my motor in the car, needs custom mounts. Been trying to get ahold of Paul at HR parts but can't get a reply. If you speak to him let him know I am trying to contact him.

I had a stretch in mine. No issues at all

MJ 17 row. This unit was made for Crisafulli's TTA back in the day. TTA inlet is shorter and tighter bend vs. a GN MJ17 row. Fit is fine and has equal ground clearance to stocker, but you have to lose the front sway bar.

Red Armstrong told me to stuff the biggest intercooler I could in the Turbo TA. Jim Dunn/Mease had this made for me. I reworked the neck. Swar bar is there,

Aluminum scoop was a little low for me since it's not a track car... so I removed it and fit the stocker to it. All is well.

We are so excited to have one of the top Turbo Buick guru's "Nick" research and developing new ideas and parts for our cars.

so you guys are saying you could buy the gn stretched off of full throttle or where ever but the shroud would need to be re-fabbed??

Jim Dunn intercooler installed
fits good, the scoop is adjustable
I would like to buy another one with a 3" up pipe if he would do it
not sure why he chose a 2 1/2" up pipe and a 3" inlet
I picked up a few pounds of boost when I installed it
I like it

I also have the Jim Dunn stretch IC....great fit and performs great. If you want one he can still get them made (as well as the DP)
