priming oil pump

Can someone tell me if I have to use the vaseline method , or pour oil into the oil cooler line and roll engine or can I just unplug the orange ECM wire and roll the engine to get oil pressure? I'm changing my timing chain and hope someone can give me some advice....

Since the cover will be off, I recommend packin the pump with vaseline. This way you will disassemble the pump and check the condition of its internals at the same rime
