OK ,after cleaning the garage floor of fluid,,I did get the pan down:) What I found in the pan was the doughnut magnet was covered in a fine grey metal(kind of silky smooth) would this be normal???also there were a few chips (2 very small)
Next I was poking around and noticed about 7clutch plates altogether ,this is at the rear of the trans near that point where you can read the numbers 409(I think that was the #),but what I would like to know is how much movement should there be with putting your finger on the plates and moving them ,,I can move the whole bunch as one about 1/8" (not rotating them ,but from the front to back) is this normal or do I have a problem coming on???

So what's the problem? :p

You're fine. Everything you see there is typical.
