PTS Extreme has a knock...

hey guy's my car developed a knock recently, and i unbolted the converter and it went away. the last couple months the car would seem to almost bind up a little on the 2-3 shift, not all the time but pretty often, and then the knock started.. it was only in gear at first, but is constant now. pulled trans to look at flex plate and its fine, removed the pan and there was no clutch material but there is some fairly large metal shavings, about a teaspoon full.
any ideas??? trans is a bit older (2004)but has very few miles on it..
trans is a PTS Extreme, and converter is a PTS billet 9/11

here's a couple pics of the trans after removeal.. very clean unit, fluid was nice, and like i said no signs of clutch material in the pan..

Could the knock have been loose converter bolts?

everything was very tight, i was hoping it was something easy too...
sucks because i'm new to the area, and i dont have anyone i can trust to do the job right..

Well I installed the 9/11 PTS converter I bought from bowtiy today , And all I can say is wow what a nice converter spools fast now, and Absolutely no KNOCK at all. Thanks again Bruce for the time you took out of you busy schedule .You build one hell of a converter. Thanks again.

I knew it wasn't the converter

So......... Somebody had a great day, got a smokin deal and is very happy,:biggrin: and somebody else is not so happy and now has to buy another converter. The knock thing still has me thinking tho.... ck trans mount and other related components. Also ck for a cracked flexplate. Feel free to call if needed.
