Stevemon, I can see the wheel is up dude, kewl!!!
Sorry for the crude picture. All my gear is low tech. One of my Buick buds from Tulsa video taped it and sent it to me. (Thanks Mike Westoff!) The only way I could get a pic from the tape was take a picture of my TV while the tape was playing in the VCR. <LOL>

Wow, finally found the picture:

I used to pull the DS tire much higher, but then I went and put on the HR rear sway bar, and it launches much more level than ever before. Kinda boring now. I still have the front sway bar on it.

That is awesome, hubcaps and all....

Steveman - Still a wheels up pic in my eyes:cool:

Anyone else have a picture?

-Raymond, here's a picture of my car taken at Englishtown, NJ on last labor day weekend...The front sway bar is removed and I have an H&R sway bay in the rear. I must say that I agree with "wagon" when he says

...It makes the car leave more "level" but is less fun and also less "spectacular"!...:D

-I don't think though, that removing the FRONT sway bar has anything to do with the way the car leaves, except for removing a few pounds off the front of the car.

Claude

Claude - Your probably right, I just thought by removing the sway bar it would transfer the weight a little better. I'll probably just leave it on, especially when I upgrade the turbo etc. Should still be able to get air:wink: Very nice picture too man!!!

Cody - Your car is getting it done dude! Your combo is just about what I want to do with mine!

Thanks for posting guys!

Anyone else? I know we have some wicked cars on here guys:wink:

Hey Stevemon, havent talked with you in years! Im your old buddy Luke from Kansas. My 86 t-type now pulls the front driver's tire a few inches with the aid of metco control arms. My front sway bar is not removed. I pull a 1.59 60ft.

Hi Luke. Good to hear your car's getting faster. I never got a 1.5 in mine. Stock boxed LCAs and both stock swaybars. Get your T down to Noble next year. They can use you. I sold mine last Dec. Have too much going to keep up with it and I can't put anything nice out in the shop with the beadbalsting & machining going on. It's not so much me but I've had others working in there w/me and I can't do my work for watching out for the car! <LOL>
Say hi to Cathy & the Kid!

I wish this thread was posted in the suspension section. I have been trying to tell people there is no need to take the front swaybar off the car when people drive their cars as street/strip cars. Seems like everyone wants to argue with me on that. I know the cars that run primarily at the strip can do it no problem but when it is street driven, taking the front bar off makes the car handle like crap! Thanks for proving my point! Cars look BAD ASSS!!!!

I wouldn't even consider driving on the street without a front swaybar.

so far i have goten a 1.60 with stock suspension but i have boxed stock uppers and lowers. shocks are 10 years old as well. that was off 10psi foot brake lauches. this year i have removed the front sway bar and will be taking it to the track in 2 weeks to see if i can get 1.5's. as far as driving it on the street with no sway bar in the front its not that bad.

Not bad at all and i hope you acheive your goal of 1.5's. What slick are you running/or Drag Radials? I ran 14psi in my ET Drags, and didn't adjust it once during the whole race event.

I know when I did my initial burnout with the slicks, I only heated them for maybe 3-4 seconds top. I didn't overheat them if there is such a thing...dunno? Maybe this has something to do with it, of course there will be difference of opinions on this I'm sure.

ANyhow, still a fun topic.....Anyone else out there?

this was on MT ET Street Radials 275/60 15's with 20psi in the tires. i started at 24 psi and worked my way down to 20. after the 3rd pass they where hookin good. the lowest i have had to go to hook is 17psi

Here's a pic of my GN from last fall at Cecil County in Maryland...

That was with the stock front swaybar (now 36mm) on a 28x9.5 MT ET Drag with 16psi in them on a then stock rear suspension. Rear control arms and swaybar were still stock, only new parts being cargo coils and KYB shocks. That was off the footbrake at 15psi or so and a high 1.5 short time I believe, on the way to a 12.0x pass. Front wheels are 16x8 GTAs with 245/50 Kuhmos.

Stock turbo, convertor, cam, and IC.

Nice!
Not bad a t all for very basic mods....Darn cars are just torque monsters, period!

I know there has to be more, post some pics and combo guy's:wink:
