Question about Bates June 1 Buick Event?

The Bates event was very enjoyable last year in all respects - location, cars, prizes and especially the people, but the 2 day trip from Arizona and back was brutal driving/towing almost 1000 miles in just 2 days.

So this year a few of us plan to extend our trip by a day by leaving on Monday, so my question is there a possibility we can extend our gathering by having an early Sunday dinner somewhere close by for a relaxing meal where we can relax and exchange pleasantries?

Mike has his hands full with the plans and the event itself, so my question is maybe one, or 2 or 3 locals could possibility put something like the together?

were heading over on sat to avoid the long haul on sun,
its 376 mi one way for me,(752 total) and spending all day enjoying Buicks, AND the drive both ways , is a bit much.
for old folks! LOL

The area just outside of Bates Nut Farm has been built up lots over the past few years. Lots of new strip centers. I'm sure there's some good eats near by. Anyone live Near?
