Hey Guys recently installed Kirbans 3 inch down pipe. In the directions it said to seal the down pipe where it attaches to the elbow up at the turbo with muffler sealer. It's like a grey liquid. Like I thought it was not going to seal. I can hear it leaking and feel it with my hand. I'm thinking I might have to weld it up to fix it but then it's a pain if I need to disassemble it in the future. For now I tried to use the muffler sealer again then wrapped it with some 2 inch fiberglass heat wrap with a metal hose clamp on the seam. It's get supper hot and I'm guessing it's going to blow through the wrap. How did you guys seal it up. Weld ?

If you are talking about Kirban's two piece down pipe, the best way to get it to seal is to take the exhaust housing and have a pocket milled out. That way the pipe will fit flush in the housing.

The exhaust housing was milled out and seals fine. It leaking where the down pipe slips on the elbow. If you look at the picture the elbow bolts on then the down pipe slips onto it. Thanks

I had one on my GN, I used white muffler paste and it sealed up fine. It was very thick.

That band I think is the answer. Just why I posted on here. Thank you.
