I like my 27x10.5 QTPs. I put them on 15x8 wheels with 4" backspacing. Its close to the frame but works. I started without tubes, but every time I went to the track the left rear would start to leak after 1 pass. Since I drive them on the street on occasion, I had tubes put in. I think the Hoosier site states running tubes is your option but they reccomend it if you drive them on the street. My best 60' so far was a 1.59. I think my 60' is more limited to HP than traction.

I'll try them without tubes for a bit.

Don't plan on driving them on the street at all.

I'm hoping for 1.7 at LVD. :)

Woody I did think of you when buying them. ;)

Banning, what wheels were you running on your car, and what backspacing? Any fitment issues with the 28/11.50 tire? I'm thinking about trying out the Hoosiers myself and have been considering the 28/11.50 tire mounted on my 15X8 3.5 backspace Weld Rodlites. Thanks.

15x8" American Racing Outlaws. 3.5" backspacing I believe, but I never checked. Spacing against the frame rail is tight, but works for me and another buddy.

They are GREAT tires. I've had the same set on my car for almost 3 seasons now. There still is plenty of rubber left in them. I usually run about 15psi in them and never had any problems at the track. Obviously I don't use rim screws.

What's that Scott??? Not any faster? So if you ran a 11.00... you wouldn't give the wastegate rod one more twist and make another pass??? ;)

Okay, okay, my post was written before I knew the engine was coming out! The answer is now "Darn right I would, but I wouldn't give it 3 turns!".

The fit with the 27x11.5s on Weld Drag Lites (15x8, 3.5" BS) is fine. I'm not running tubes, but can't comment on the leakage since I only got to make 1 day worth of runs on these tires before the motor went south  .

if you want to maximize your track performance, do not use DOT type tires (QT Pro's, ET Streets)...get real slicks

they are worth from .1-.2 in 60' times on my car over the DOT's ( that's .2-.4 in the 1/4......)

i dis agree with your statement woody the qtp tire is as good as ANY slick of the same size that i have tried ........(believe me i go through tires) and somtimes better (a little) than a hard compound slick..........
