I'm trying to located my hobbs switch for the double pumper- anyone have a pic of what it looks like and where its usually mounted? The guy I bought the car from said its set on 10 psi. I get pretty lean around 9 so wanted to knock it down a pound or two- and let the regulator take care of the rest.

Also- is this related? This is part of the large guage wires running down the frame rail, I assume its the hot wire. Couple of wires coming from near the alternator to this, then running down the frame rail. Referring the object underneath the fuel pressure gauge to the left of the vapor cannister. Want a little direction/information before I go digging in...

I maybe wrong, but the hobbs switch that comes with Red's DB is not adjustable, but fixed. At least mine was, I bought an adjustable switch and installed it.

Good Luck

So where is yours mounted? I assume it needs a boost source, then a power source and either a relay to trigger or direct wiring to pump.

Any ideas what the device in the picture is ?

i'm pretty sure Red's arent adjustable...Mine t's into a vacuum hose right by the alternator.....no offense but you dont need double's on that car....and you shouldnt be going lean at about 9 lbs....i think you might have other issues...

Yeah I am sure that going lean at 9lbs is an issue, thats why I'm trying to figure out if my wiring (or vacuum to the hobbs) is hokey somewhere... I've changed the fuel filter, I'm getting at least 13 volts at the pump. I replaced the vac hose to the fp regulator, it didn't look 100% leakproof. I located the hobbs, it was near the alternator, I pumped it up to 5 psi and my test light came on so its working properly. Looks like it is adjustable- there is an Allen head port.

Do you think I should get rid of the doubles and go back to a single? Would that help my problem?

Yes, doubles are over kill, but going back to a single pump wont cure your problem. (i dont think anyways)....But you could if you wanted too...Do you have a FP guage you can watch while you drive?? I'd try that first to make sure the FP is going up according to the Boost...then go from there...Remember is 1 for 1...

HTH's...
