need some professional advice and experience does it matter how many washers r in between the radiator core support and the frame with the bushings in place? im asking because i added washers to get the right gap between fender and door spacing

Agree100%

you gotta do what you gotta do. If it all ends up straight, you win! :d

i have had 0 in one side and 3 in the other side, but if you think that is bad, back in the day i was working on a brand new m-carlo ss aerocp and they had like 6 washers in each side, guess it was a bad day at the factory!!!!!

lol wow but thats what i needed to know becuz i was trying to align my passenger fender to door gap and once i added 2 extra washers on the passenger side of the rad support it looks better but wen i took a dimension from level ground up to the top front of the passenger fender vs the drivers side the was a difference should add to the otherside as well even though that fender hasnt been tampered with ? or will that affect nothing and leave as is? im just thinking if i had to add 2 extra washers to pass side to make rite if i add 2 to the drivers side thats already good will it affect the drivers side gap?

Adjusting fenders

First, make sure your doors are fit properly(hinge pins good).. Take both bolts and washers out of the rad supt, lift or lower rad supt to achieve door gap, even at top and bottom, lock the rear fender bolds, take note of the gap between the rad supt and mount on frame, install washers so when you tighten the rad supt bolts, your not pulling the fender up or down. Make sure the bodyline is good, you may need a shim on the top(at cowl)if the fender sits lower than the door(pretty common)gm used shims in the top and bottom of the fenders... After the fenders fit the door evenly and flush, chech the hood to fender gaps,if uneven shift rad supt side to side to even gap(note hood lock unbolted so it does not draw hood to either side and get stuck) when align hood to fender gaps, i always loosen the inner plastic w-house bolts,it allows front to shift easier. After the fender and hood gaps are even, tighten 2 rad supt mount bolts..reinstall hood lock.. It's nice to have a helper to give assistance.. Good luck!
