Well, it is time to pull the radiator. What is the choice for a stock replacement? I have no cooling issues (steady 173*), and the car is not raced, so I don't need a 3 core or a nice aluminum piece for 400 bucks. Recore, Advance, Auto Zone, NAPA. Are all the 100 dollar replacements plastic tanks?? Thanks for all advice!

Get a F-Body radiator for $98 and call it a day...I am sure some one will chime in and agree with me....:biggrin:

AC-Delco p/n 20269, Spectra Premium (SPI) CU683, or Visteon 8683. But be prepared, the stock replacment radiators are now being made with the wrong fittings for the trans cooler. You'll need to find or fab a 5/16" inverted flare-to-5/16" inverted flare adapter

F-body radiator is aluminum/plastic but is under $100. Has no eng oil cooler

I've used both the F-body radiator and the aluminum HD radiator, the F-body only ran about 5 degrees warmer, if that.

So an f body radiator is 100 bucks. But, I would then have to add a separate oil cooler, correct? How much do those go for? What is the general cost to have my stocker recored?? I just pulled it and it seems to be in good condition. Even the 23 year old hoses came off for the first time in its life without a wimper. I love working on this car!

I would just get a F-body, its new..lol...I removed my oil cooler 3 years ago and could not be more happier. Just use the internal trans cooler, or get and external for $50

Yes they bolt right in...have to bend them a little bit but that takes a whole 10 seconds...

I put in an all alum. radiator from Silla. It was about $100 with shipping (if I remember correctly). Lifetime guarantee, no trans line issues and my car runs right at 160 in the Memphis heat.

What is their contact info? BTW, I plan on eliminating the oil "cooler", more of a heater from what I understand.

When was the last time you checked a recore price. I just called around and a recore is 300+here in Mass. If I could get it done for 150 I would. So, when using the F-body radiator, do most of you eliminate the oil cooler, and if so, how? Just remove the hoses and add plugs? Size of plugs?? I appreciate the help , guys!

First remove the oil lines from the radiator, and the cooling plate. There is a bolt that secures the cooler plate *Sandwich* to the timing cover...just remove that bolt inside and screw the oil filter directly into the timing cover
