A month ago I thought I had a voltage problem and ended up doing this to have a more positive connection (fancy speak for I stripped out the battery and gold extender bolt :) )

Since they use a threaded stud, every thread in the battery gets to be used plus the fastener doesn't turn when clamping down the battery cable. It's also easy to hook up extra stuff like hotwires, amps, and extra grounds with the end bolt. Comes with extra washers and ring terminals. $22 shipped in the lower 48

Ha ha , thats funny, I just did the exact same thing, new batt for the
We4, and darned if I didn't ruin few threads on the new batt.
so I did almost the exact same thing, stud in the batt, etc.
good idea!

I use those on my plow truck since I have extra wires to run the plow electronics. They work great.
