Any good writeups on this? I'm having a hard time with searching for this. I'll be putting in a set of Q forms in the kick panels so the ECM has to move.

why would you need a writeup? make a bracket under the dash where the wires will still reach and call it a day. maybe mount it so the prom is pointed down to make it easy to swap chips..

There is not enough space between the bottom of the vent components and the plastic piece on the bottom to mount it. I wasn't sure if anyone has ever been creative and tucked it somewhere else.

Mike,

The car I have now had a high end stereo system installed by the previous owner. He had mid's and tweeters installed in custom kick panels which meant to ECM had to be relocated. It's currently mounted under the carpet in the foot well area. I thought it might get hot but it has obviously been that way for years. It doesn't seem to be a problem so it might be an option.

Thanks Neal. I looked at Q logic's website and they said to do the same thing. Is it mounted close to the firewall? Do passengers have to step on it?

Mike,

In my car the ECM is against the firewall so the passengers don't really step on it. If they stretch out their legs their feet would be on it. I can send you some pics if you want them.

Im doing the same thing. Pics would be great. Thanks.

If you put it under the carpet make sure ur weatherstripping is always good because guess where the waters going now:eek:

Here is a pic: I either have to find a shallower glove box or will need to modify my current one to clear the ECM. It will still be functional in the end. The wiring will stretch. You will notice that the wiring loom folds over itself a bit when you pull the ECM out.

Sure...my gloves :D. I do keep a handful of things in there , so I'd like to at least have the ability to have a little pocket in there.
