on caspers site in the tech area it says that you must replace the pink resistance wire when updating the coil but it doesnt say what pin out on the ccci plug it is I have the wiring diagram from the "basic hot air info " section ...has any one ran in to this before . my car has the simptoms described for need ing to do this mod . It breaks up at the to of each gear .

found the wire in the harness it gos back to the fire wall but don t know were to go from there ???????? any help ??

replaced the pink wire with a regular wire but car sill is braking up when car is at full throttle

The pink resistor wire (doubled?) goes back to the fuse block. I believe it is the 7.5A fuse. Labeled Coil?

yeah i ended up pullin the firewall connector out and changing the wire car still runs the same

how old are the plugs and wires? sometimes a hot air will do that even when the plug comes out and looks normal. Cheap to replace.

the car only breaks up at 3/4 throtle or more don t matter if the bosst is 10 psi or 20psi

hmm... How "violent" is the breakup? Does it just miss a cylinder here and there or does it throw you through the windshield like you've just hit the brakes? Any backfires, or violent popping?

The more severe it is, I would lean toward a MAF or knock retard.

The less severe it is I would look at the ignition system.

Scan tool?

a local guy that messes with gn's also thinks the ign modudle is weak, but i can't seem to get the 87 mod and adapter harness to run so i put my old 85 mod back on and the car starts right up.

Has anyone noticed a difference disconnecting the resistor wires on CCCI conversion?

Have not completed the "pink wire" upgrade.

Get a good water proof relay from Caspers.
Cut the 12V power wire to the ignition module.
Use the wire from the firewall sire to trigger the relay.
Connect a wire to the Alternator post and run the wire to the relay.
Ryn the alternator post output from the relay to the cut "Ignition module power wire". Now you have a hotwire.

I'll get to mine one of these days ......
The reason I have not yet completed this is becasue I would like to set a good/solid baseline so I can document any improvement. Need to complete the installation and log it in about 30 minutes to take out weather/baro variables.

coil & module upgrade

I have upgrade also, but have not noticed a problem. Would I notice a difference removing resistor wire.
