Envoy had a terrible whine when the engine is running. In the shop, I took the fan belt off and cranked it and no more noise. It was an idler pulley bearing. I fixed it for $10.
But, the ses light is on.
I've disconnected the battery for a few seconds but the light is still on.
Do I need a scan tool?

Thanks for any help!

Ed

Problem solved. I hope.

I left the battery disconnected for over an hour while I ate supper. The ses light is off now.

Thanks,
Ed

Next time, try this. Turn the key to the on position (engine off), and depress the accelerator 3 times quickly. This clears the codes on our new GM trucks.
