just had a knowledgeable friend install an after market radio for me, I had been at the mercy of the sorry radio stations in Miami.... So finally got the $$ together and got it done. Now on my way home noticed with the headlight switch on the right turnsignal indicator stays lit on the dash solid?? if i engage the turnsignal either left or right it will blink normally, again this is only with the headlight sw on and occured after the radio install. we will be going back in and check wiring tomorrow but wondered if anyone else has encountered this problem or any leads??

thanks in advance

Lou

Seems kinda funny that happened after the stero was installed. I had a 81 regal that done the same. ended up being a ground problem for me. maybe not your problem, but just check out the body to chassis and engine grounds just in case.

One of the bulbs on that side has a filament that is touching the other filament (dual filament bulb) and if comes loose, will "fix itself". Check them good. Around here, it is a $96 ticket for failure to signal and with a bulb doing that, that is a guaranteed ticket with a cop behind you.

^ thanks man, cant have the cops diggin into the funds for the car..

ill be checking the bulbs and connectors tomorrow.

I got pulled over by a sheriff just two weeks after replacing taillight bulbs and one did this to me. Had to prove to him that I did signal. He followed me home and watched as I changed it out. Cool guy to talk to but I feel if any other sheriff had been having a bad night, I would have received the ticket.

I have this same problem. Mines came after replacing a blown bulb behind the cluster. Also highbeam indicator light will not work no matter what bulb I install. I am using the right bulb also with the lil resistor or whatever in it. Please help with any ideas.

I had an issue with my front socket that the light bulb went in to. It was corroded and the contacts of the bulb did not always align correctly. Sometimes the blinkers would work regular sometimes the indicator light would stay on. Take a look at the socket and bulb, wiggle it a little and see if that effects the signal bulb. If so you found your problem.
One more thing to consider is if you have any cooler (transmission or oil) near any of the front signal wires. They are not a high gauge and when heated up will ohm out and cause your symptom.
