On 109 block rebuild with forged crank and K1 rods , would 15 thous be too much side clearance on a rod ?
I know 10 is the recommended but I can't see more being a problem as one would think the 2 thous bearing clearance would be the controlling factor on oil pressure ; but before this goes together I want to make sure 15 is not going to be a problem

Ok

I have run as much as .028 with stock rods and pistons. You are talking about clearance between big rod end and crank? .050 is min. between small rod end and piston.

Yes . Its the big end and crank I was wondering about . So 0.015 looks ok . Tks

I would say .015" is near perfect!! To much is better than to tight in this situation. mike:cool:

The side clearance is .005 to .015 as long as you stay with in that range you are fine, anything bigger than .015 it will sound like a solid lifter cam but would not hurt anything,
