Sorry I could not respond to those who answered my 1st post. I was having a computer issue. I have the "beat-o-meter" tearing between the 1/4 glass and door frame. I've been looking into rear seat braces. Is this the best solution? I was hoping to find a set that don't require drilling. Any suggestions?

I'd say the rear seat braces are a good start. Then, there are fender braces, frame braces, and body mounts (bushings, cushions) to consider. All of these help. So does having a solid roof car. So does a roll bar or roll cage. And soft launches.

There are weld in rear seat braces. I believe GNX has them. I'm not sure if weld ins are available in the aftermarket. ASSuming they are not, it's a trip to the dealer (shot in the dark), the junkyard, or fab yourself.

BUT, be aware that the bolt ins work very nicely, and I put them on both my low miles TRs with no reservations whatsoever...

The FBI Turbo buicks had rear seat braces welded in as well.

Get the frame braces and bolts off of a G body cutlass and clean and paint em up, slap em on and u will not believe the difference. Put it this way, my wife noticed the car being more rigid and when your wife notices...that is saying something :D.

Also the rear seat braces and the body bushings with the extra GNX bushings, then the under hood baces from the inner fender to the edges of the radiator area.

If you are going to ever get the car repainted at that point u can get a patch of metal welded to the inside behind the cracks.

Get em

Thanks for the replies. I'm looking at ordering the rear seat brace. I prefer the bolt in style. Where did you guys get yours from? Also, where on the Cutlass are the frame braces? I haven't been under a Cutlass for YEARS. Looks like I have a junkyard trip in the future. :D

They are from the center of the crossmember to the frame rails

_\/_ Kinda like my attempt to the left.

I'm calling Postons on Monday. They seem to have a great supply of parts(they also support this site). I'm really interested in the Cutlass \/ braces. Do they run from the engine or tranny crossmember? I REALLY thank you guys for the help. I'm putting the GN on the road for the 1st time in 5 years. It's going to be a great summer. :D
